Athrodax Healthcare strictly prohibits the use and exploitation of modern slavery in our business operations and across our supply chain. We are committed to upholding this policy within our business practises and will ensure that our suppliers also meet the same high standards in prohibiting modern slavery/human trafficking.
Modern slavery is a term encompassing slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking.
Athrodax policies / due diligence to prevent modern slavery:
- The onus of prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery at any level of business operation or across the supply chain is on all employees of Athrodax Healthcare (Appendix 1) or any persons working within the supply chain.
- Relevant policies are listed in Appendix 2.
- The business of Athrodax is as a distributor of medical products to the UK NHS and private hospital sector. Athrodax imports finished products from Germany, France, Taiwan, South Korea, USA. Athrodax also sells finished products from a UK based company. The supply chain of Athrodax is therefore restricted to companies in these countries who in turn have robust anti-slavery policies. A list of all our suppliers is available to stakeholders on request.
- We expect to share our high standards with all contractors, suppliers, and business partners. This policy is consistent with the obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- Due diligence comprises senior management of Athrodax Healthcare periodically visiting the suppliers’ premises to witness shop floor processes and to directly discuss a supplier’s antislavery policies. Athrodax will not deal with any suppliers who raise an objection to Athrodax’s representatives or nominees entering their premises.
- To bring about internal compliance, Athrodax has anti-slavery policies that covers:
- Clear communication to all members of staff for Athrodax Healthcare, including employees at all level, directors, agency workers, volunteers or interns, of our anti Slavery policies (Appendix 2) at the beginning of, and reiterated throughout, their employment.
- A requirement that staff inform the managing director if any perceived or suspected breach or conflict with this policy has occurred or will occur in the future.
Effectiveness in Combatting Slavery and Human Trafficking
We use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure our effectiveness in ensuring that slavery and human trafficking does not exist in any part of our business or supply chain. Our KPIs are:
- Having 100% of our employees annually trained to understand the risks posed to the business in relation to slavery and human trafficking.
- Targeting 100% of our suppliers, contractors and business partners, ensuring that they have and adhere to their own Modern Slavery policy.
Agreed by Board of Directors on 23rd September 2024.
